Consumer Direct has the following advice for those affected by the news that Wrapit Plc has gone into administration.

  • If you have purchased gifts from Wrapit which have not been delivered you can register a claim with the administrators KPMG by phoning the helpline number on 0844 770 1301.
  • The administrators have also posted a Question and Answer document for all customers and suppliers on the Wrapit website at www.wrapit.co.uk .
  • You need to be aware that it may take some considerable time for the administrators to assess your claim and it could ultimately be unsuccessful.
  • If you have purchased gifts using a credit card and the value was over £100 (but less than £30,000), you should be able to seek a refund from your credit card provider under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
  • If you have paid using a Visa debit card you may be covered under the chargeback scheme but be aware that this scheme is not a legal obligation.
  • Check to see if your wedding or other insurance policies cover your loss (although this is unlikely)
  • Any claim needs to be made by the gift buyer. The bride and groom may need to contact their friends & family and advise them of the above.
